ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study is to examine traded energy-intensive sectors, the relative strengths of world prices and domestic costs in determining the sectors’ output prices, and economically worthwhile energy efficiency investments. The literature on energy-saving investment cost curves, the electricity enlargement process, and the future EU electricity market is relevant to this discussion. pp. 214–219
