ABSTRACT. Krishna remarks that man's consciousness itself will be seen as infected with a logical ambiguity rendering it ontologically unintelligible, if "reality" and "truth" are conceived in traditional terms. Kekes rejects the coherence model which posits the self as creating a coherent image of itself as part of its existential quest for integration. Pradhan claims that it is the capacity to become the first-person which makes someone a person; whatever Wittgenstein may have said about language his position does not lead to the conclusion that there is no self-consciousness.
