ABSTRACT. Unjustifiably so, logicians have associated the principles of opposition and conditioning to tautological formulae that involve the absolute negation. But the purpose of principles is to differentiate between relative degrees of affirmation and negation, which is why their significance is incorporated in the very definition of the connectives or the interpropositional functions. pp. 81–92

Keywords: formal norms, formal truth, opposition, conditioning, relative affirmation and negation
