ABSTRACT. This article reviews and advances existing literature concerning the relationship between medical big data processing mechanisms and real-time patient health monitoring. Using and replicating data from Accenture, Ericsson ConsumerLab, GMInsights, GrowthEnabler, PAC, and Zebra Technologies, I performed analyses and made estimates regarding global Internet of Things market share by sub-sector (%), experienced and new users of wearables by age group (%), percent allocated by healthcare organizations of their annual IT budgets to investments for Internet of Medical Things solutions, and U.S. healthcare artificial intelligence market size, by application (2025, $ million). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.
