ABSTRACT. He was arguably the most important Austrian philosopher of our century: Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951), whose works, including his well-known Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, continues to present us with many a riddle. Meanwhile, Wittgenstein was not just a publisher of studies, essays and aphorisms on linguistic and epistemological theory - he was also a committed letter-writer.
