ABSTRACT. The aim of this paper is to point out two quandaries to which functionalism and the computer model of the mind give rise, and to resolve them. Resolving these quandaries will serve, or so I hope, to better understand the essence of functionalism and the computer model of the mind and the relation between them. pp. 59–67
