ABSTRACT. My analysis reviews the growing literature on the atmosphere associated with employees’ production deviance, the motivational foundation of deviant behavior as controlled and unrestricted undertakings, and main dispositional precursors of workplace deviance. The overall results provide strong evidence for the relevance of team climate and co-worker impact in influencing distinct group member deviance behaviors, the function of human resource routines and job contentment in envisaging workplace interpersonal deviance, and the mediating function of organizational commitment in the personality–workplace deviance link.
