ABSTRACT. The aim of the present study is to examine and evaluate China’s increasing integration into the world trading system, the legal regime governing business organization, the effects of China’s economic reforms, and the development of China’s legal system in the era of reform. This paper seeks to fill a gap in the current literature by examining the importance of formal legal training, the fundamental view of the state and its officials toward the legal system, the formal law-making structure of the Chinese legal system, and China’s legal structure governing economic activity. pp. 102–107
