ABSTRACT. Lawrence claims that U.S. ambivalence toward WTO starts with an ambivalence toward trade (particularly with a misunderstanding of the sources of trade's benefits). Pauwelyn notices that the WTO treaty was created against the background of general international law (a law that by its very nature applies to all WTO members without exception). Bogdandy argues that WTO is a body of law with increasing influence on domestic economic law and its everyday practice.
