ABSTRACT. Nunn constructs measures of the efficiency of contract enforcement across countries, and the importance of relationship-specific investments across countries. Schwartz and Scott maintain that contracts sometimes fall within the self-enforcing range and reputation can make promises to perform credible in some sub-economies. Katz sets out some of the main ways in which the doctrines and regulations of contract law might need to change in an electronic setting, and offers an economic framework for evaluating such changes.
