ABSTRACT. Identifying order, and finding meaning in human history are central to The Education of Henry Adams. An Autobiography (AE). In spite of the author’s a passionate response to human spirituality and an equally intense faith in science, and the circuitous route he sets out, the quest ostensibly ends up in failure. The autobiographer arguably discovers the very paradigm of his endeavor in the unpredictable, lawless “unity in diversity” of art. pp. 26-32
