ABSTRACT. Despite the relevance of Internet of Things-based disease management, metaverse hospital and healthcare virtualization, and remote patient monitoring, only limited research has been conducted on this topic. Throughout January 2024, a quantitative literature review of the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest databases was performed, with search terms including “Internet of Things-based disease management in simulated care environments” + “deep learning-based medical imaging technologies,” “metaverse hospital and healthcare virtualization,” and “wearable patient monitoring and clinical artificial intelligence systems.” As research published between 2022 and 2024 was inspected, only 177 articles satisfied the eligibility criteria, and 30 mainly empirical sources were selected. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: CADIMA, Eppi-Reviewer, Litstream, MMAT, R package and Shiny app citationchaser, and SWIFT-Active Screener.

Keywords: deep learning-based medical imaging; metaverse hospital; healthcare virtualization; wearable patient monitoring; clinical artificial intelligence; Internet of Things-based disease management
