ABSTRACT. This paper discusses the major trends in scholarship about the relevance of successful leadership in the contemporary healthcare setting, the special chances of public health leadership, and leadership functions and competencies for public health experts in ongoing education programs. The analysis presented in this paper contributes to research on the function of leadership and governance in public health, difficult tasks confronting public health leadership, skills demanded by public health leaders to effectively satisfy patient and population health prerequisites, and the singularity and distinct features of leadership in health care. pp. 273–279
