ABSTRACT. The objective of this paper is to systematically review generative artificial intelligence and workplace monitoring systems configuring crowdsourced decisions, business process performance, and talent management. Throughout August 2023, a quantitative literature review of the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest databases was performed, with search terms including “generative artificial intelligence and 3D virtual simulation technologies” + “ambient scene detection and automated employment decision tools,” “visual data mining and immersive remote collaboration systems,” and “decentralized autonomous organizations.” As research published in 2023 was inspected, only 167 articles satisfied the eligibility criteria, and 49 mainly empirical sources were selected. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: AMSTAR, Dedoose, Distiller SR, and SRDR.

Keywords: generative artificial intelligence; 3D virtual simulation technologies; ambient scene detection; automated employment decision tools; visual data mining; immersive; remote collaboration; decentralized autonomous organization
