ABSTRACT. In the present paper, I focus on the politics of terrorism, the causes of terrorist behavior, and the nature of the political purposes behind terrorist violence. I am specifically interested in how previous research investigated counterterrorism planning, the propensity toward terrorism in democracies, and state characteristics in fomenting terrorist activity. pp. 174–179
