THE INFLUENCE OF CORRUPTION ON ECONOMIC GROWTH
LUMINITA IONESCUABSTRACT. Research focusing on previous work experience revealed the possible simultaneity of corruption and growth, the dependence of the transmission channel variables on the corruption level, the negative social effects of corruption, the influence of corruption on the environmental regulatory systems, and the distortionary effect of corruption on the private sector. The findings of this study have implications for the discrepancy between perceived corruption and incidence of corruption, the relation between political institutions and corruption, corruption as a violation of the border between the public and the private sphere, the inclusion of corruption in models of economics of crime, and the relationship of corruption with environmental policies. pp. 453–458
