Considerable research attention has focused on gender differences in social behaviors, biological and sociocultural processes that influence the psychology of women and men, and sex differences in consumer navigation strategies. The theory that I shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on the effects of social experience on men and women, gender differences in social values and regulatory goals, the sexually divergent adaptations for gathering and hunting, and gender differences in emotional responding. pp. 134–139
