THE GROWTH OF NETWORKED MEDIA
GEORGE LAZAROIUABSTRACT. According to Pavlik, there are three principles one should follow in introducing new technology in the newsroom: (i) include newsroom staff in the process of identifying the appropriate technology; (ii) provide extensive training on the new technology before expecting staff to use it, especially on deadline, and (iii) provide sufficient technical support. Moore argues that the overwhelming flow of data compromises truth: the journalistic process, which involves verification and fact checking, produces more truthful words than those of an Internet chat room. Kim explores the design processes of the Internet system, focusing on the way the different political and economic interests between social groups and countries have shaped the development of the Internet.
