ABSTRACT. Hatzis presents an economic model of Civil contract law, and tries to clarify some common misconceptions. Schwartz and Scott hold that a theory of contract law that focuses only on the enforcement of bargains must consider the entire continuum from standard form contracts between firms and consumers to commercial contracts between business firms. Pomfret asserts that in a world where tariffs and simple non-tariff trade barriers have diminished, other trade costs come to the fore.
