HUSSERL ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTENTIONALITY AND KNOWLEDGE
NELA MIRCICAABSTRACT. The purpose of this study is to examine the essentialist character of phenomenology, Husserl’s transcendental-philosophical theory of intersubjectivity, his refutation of psychologism as a theory about the foundations of logic, and his theory of judgments of existence. The theory that we shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on the opacity of the sedimentation of knowledge, Husserl’s “form of life,” his life-world as the realm of sense or meaning, the distinction between the life-world and the transcendental plane, and Husserl’s distinction between noesis (acts of thought) and noema (intentional acts of thought providing determinate semantic reference). pp. 184–189
