Domain involvement in personality-type preferences
George Florian Macarie et al.ABSTRACT. The present study intends to highlight specific preferences for the major four-type dimensions of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, related to the students’ domain (Arts and Economy) and gender. Intended as it is to evaluate the personality types leading to different ways of living, working, or making decisions, we assumed that the questionnaire will differentiate between the personality preferences for Economics or Arts students, and respectively for male or female students. But our results show only very small differences between these dimensions, questioning the abilities involved prior to choosing a certain study domain and, further, the role of a key mediator factor – the age when students apply for a certain field. pp. 157–159
