ABSTRACT. The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of learning difficulties, the possible prevention of neuromyths in education, brain-based education, and the role of genetics in learning potentials. In the present paper, I focus on neural mechanisms for learning, the impact of neuroscience on the field of education, the development of educational neuroscience, and the use of computational models in educational neuroscience. pp. 7–12
