TULLOCK’S ANALYSIS OF THE LIMITS OF BUREAUCRACY
LUMINITA IONESCUABSTRACT. In this paper I am particularly interested in exploring Tullock’s analysis of bureaucracy, the nature and limitations of bureaucratic structures, the increasing prevalence of bureaucratic organizations, behavior within bureaucracies, and the nature and characteristics of various bureaucratic structures. The findings of this study have implications for incentives and information deficiencies faced by bureaucrats, the top-down centralization of the bureaucratic structure, the nature of public bureaucracy, the nature of the sovereign-reference politician relationship, and the decentralization of decision-making. pp. 188–193
