ABSTRACT. The aim of this paper is to synthesize and analyze existing evidence on Internet of Things-enabled smart cities. Using and replicating data from Bloomberg Intelligence, ESI ThoughtLab, Frost & Sullivan, KPMG, and McKinsey, we performed analyses and made estimates regarding big data-driven decision-making processes in the knowledge-based urban economy. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.
