ABSTRACT. This article will explore the possible future annexation of Kazakhstan’s northern region in the context of the annexation of Crimea. The Crimea Model will identify the conditions that would lead to possible annexation of a country/part of a country by Russia. The Crimea Model will be applied to Kazakhstan and will be examined through the Kazakh-Russian relationship, a socio-cultural and historical lens, and current events. Conclusions will be drawn using current events to determine if Kazakhstan will be annexed by Russia. pp. 11–29
