THE PRACTICE OF PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT IN PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS
DOINA POPESCU LJUNGHOLMABSTRACT. The mainstay of the paper is formed by an analysis of performance measurement in the public sphere, the character of performance management within the public sector, challenges confronting performance management in public services, and ingredients of change and cohesion in performance management. The results of the current study converge with prior research on the link between performance management systems and organizational effectiveness, ordinatily employed instruments in public services performance management, the effect of performance management systems on performance in public entities, and the values of performance systems. pp. 190–196
