ABSTRACT. The material gathered in this study provides a rich and diverse context for understanding possible positive environmental advantages allowed by IT and the social arrangements that associate to sustainability. The results of the current study converge with prior research on the capacity of ICT to cut down releases in energy-intensive sectors, the orientation of economic growth and development established on ICTs, and the significance of final users in dealing with energy utilization and associated CO2 releases from the employment of ICT goods. The paper generates insights about the function that ICT can have in reducing GHG emissions via sustainable manufacturing technologies, the equilibrium between economic wealth and environmental sustainability, and the environmental effects of the ICT-producing industry. pp. 66–71
