ABSTRACT. The mainstay of the paper is formed by an analysis of the speciality of the crime of genocide, the prevention and the punishment of the crime of genocide, the legal memory of the crimes, the collective memory of the crimes, and the concept of genocide as a separate international crime. The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the uniqueness of the criminality of mass atrocity, the centrality of intent to the crime of genocide, the collective nature of the crime of genocide, the relationships between individual responsibility and collective crimes, and the jurisprudence of the crime of genocide. pp. 176–181
